Jerry Hayes, OD
Founder, Chairman and CEO

Jerry Hayes, OD is the co-founder and CEO of Prima Eye Group. A nationally recognized consultant, speaker and writer on the business side of practice, Dr. Hayes has a passion for helping other optometrists become more successful in private practice. His work in the areas of staff productivity, practice finance and production metrics has had a positive impact on the way thousands of ODs manage their offices today.
The owner and President of HMI Buying Group and Red Tray Network, Dr. Hayes was presented the Optometric Business Innovator award for 2013 by Vision Monday. Jerry was also a founding faculty member of the Essilor Sponsored MBA Program as well as the founder of the Hayes Center of Practice Excellence at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. His recently published book is titled, How To Measure And Improve Staff Productivity In Private Practice Optometry.

Neil Gailmard, OD, MBA, FAAO
Founder, President and COO

Neil Gailmard, OD, MBA, FAAO is co-founder and President of Prima Eye Group.  He is also founder and CEO of Gailmard Eye Center in Munster, Indiana, one of the largest independent optometric practices in the nation.  Neil earned an MBA degree in 1998 and he has a distinguished record as one of the world’s leading experts in optometric practice management.  Dr. Gailmard is a very popular speaker at major eye care conferences and he is a prolific writer in professional publications.  
He is in his 14th year as author of the widely-read Optometric Management Tip of the Week e-newsletter.  Neil has developed numerous practice management programs for the optical industry and for the American Optometric Association.  He served on the faculty at Illinois College of Optometry for 20 years and he is in his 5th year as a visiting lecturer in the Eye Care Business course at University of California at Berkeley, School of Optometry.  
Dr. Gailmard was presented the Optometric Business Innovator award for 2014 by Vision Monday.

Terri Abraham, M.Ed.
Vice President of Operations

Terri Abraham has a diverse background in marketing, operations, and human relations management. She has specialized experience in human relations, with an extensive background in policy development, compensation programs, and employee development. In her role at Prima she provides leadership for the Atlanta based team, plans and coordinates Prima meetings, oversees the development of member programs, and handles a variety of direct services for our members.

Terri earned a bachelors degree in Marketing and Distributive Education, with a master’s degree in Vocational and Technical Education from Mississippi State University. She is a certified trainer for employee development programs in Management By Objectives and Working in Teams from Development Dimensions, Inc., and E-Learning Instructional Design from the American Society for Training and Development.

Terri and her husband have three children. She enjoys hiking, cycling, and has participated in several charity cycling and triathlon events.


Steve Vargo, OD, MBA
Vice President of Optometric Consulting

Steve Vargo, OD, MBA is a 1998 graduate of Illinois College of Optometry.  After working in clinical optometric practice for several years, Dr. Vargo pursued his passion for practice management by earning his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Phoenix in 2008.  A published author and speaker with 15 years of clinical experience, he serves as Prima's VP of consulting and works directly with Dr. Gailmard and Dr. Hayes to advise members in all areas of practice management and optometric office operations. 

Steve and his wife Melanie have two sons, Lucas and Ryan.  In his spare time he enjoys running, cycling, sports and music.  A native Chicagoan, he is an avid fan of the Cubs, live music and deep dish pizza.

Nathan Hayes
Practice Finance Consultant

Nathan Hayes joined Prima with a solid background in the eyecare industry and serves as Prima's Practice Finance Consultant. Before Prima launched in 2011, he spent five years in business development for Red Tray and HMI Buying Group. Nathan heads up Prima Metrics - our practice benchmarking program, provides support and leadership for Prima's unique 3-Year Growth Plan program and has done over 600 member consults.

Nathan graduated from Vanderbilt University in three years, with a degree in Spanish and a minor in mathematics.  After graduating, he spent a year working abroad.  During that time, he worked for two firms in San Jose, Costa Rica.  He interned with Grupo Juridico de San Jose, working in environmental policy to protect a threatened parcel of land, then he worked as a project manager for a US-owned precision machining shop.  Nathan then spent 6 months working with street children and orphans in Mexico. Before getting into eyecare, he was an Assistant Store Manager and completed the Corporate Training Program with Haverty's Furniture Company in Atlanta, GA. 

Nathan and his wife Heather have a son, Daniel and a daughter, Hannah. In his spare time, Nathan enjoys reading and outdoors activities - especially cycling and hiking.


Elise Talbot
Member Services Manager

Elise Talbot joined Prima with an established career in the healthcare industry.  She has held positions as a medical assistant, technician and manager, with expertise in the area of insurance billing & coding as well as practice administration and office management.  In her role at Prima, she is the first point of contact for our members and prospective members.  She provides assistance in a variety of areas, including billing, coding and insurance, administrative office procedures and human resources.  

Elise is from Monson, Massachusetts and attended Springfield Technical Community College with an emphasis in General Business and Management in the Healthcare Field. 


Lauren Landrum
Marketing Consultant

Lauren Landrum provides Marketing consulting for Prima members, and works with them to plan and strategize their marketing programs. Her consulting ranges from advertising to social media and SEO. Before joining Prima, Lauren held various positions in broadcast with CNN, HLN, and Fox News Channel. She most recently worked as a staff songwriter with Carnival Music Publishing in Nashville, TN. 
Lauren graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kennesaw State University with a B.S in Communication and concentration in journalism and citizen media. When she isn't working, Lauren enjoys hiking and cooking. She and her husband Miles play music together, and they are both avid Atlanta Braves fans.

Rachel Dornbos
Vendor Services Manager

Rachel Dornbos, Prima's Vendor Services Manager, brings an established career in sales and customer service.  She has held positions as a sales representative and assistant manager in the jewelry and restaurant industries.  In her role at Prima, she works with our members to educate them on our excellent discount and rebate programs, and serves as the liason with our vendor partners to enroll member in these programs. Rachel also works closely with our vendor partners to coordinate their sponsorship and attendance at Prima meetings, as well as opportunities to provide educational webinars for our members. 
Rachel is from Midland, Michigan, and received her B.S in Business Management from Kennesaw State University.  In her spare time, Rachel is a runner, having completed her first half marathon, and is in training to complete a full marathon. 
Cori Pickwick

Cori Pickwick
Member Services Specialist

Cori Pickwick is our Member Services Specialist, and brings a solid background in office administration. Before joining Prima, Cori worked as a Satellite Operator in the newsroom at CNN. In that position, she booked and coordinated studio and transmissions world-wide. She also was selected to represent her department for an esteemed six month rotation in London. Her areas of expertise include office organization, customer relations, and meeting planning. In her role at Prima, Cori assists members with scheduling consultations with Dr. Gailmard, assists with the coordination of Prima’s annual education meetings, roundtable meetings, and various office administrative tasks.

Cori graduated Cum Laude from Florida State University with a B.S. in Communication and a concentration in Media Production. She and her husband James, have a border collie named Rowah. They love to travel and have been to seven different countries thus far together. In her spare time, Cori loves to read and is an active volunteer in her community.

Melissa Metcalf, MBA
Director of Marketing

Melissa Metcalf is the Director of Marketing for Prima Eye Group.  For nearly twenty years Melissa has helped build and guide marketing strategies for both small organizations and Fortune 50 companies.  Her industry experience includes the telecom, finance, and software industries with a focus on building creative, robust and profitable Marketing programs.  In her role for Prima, Melissa guides the Marketing strategy and communications plan for the organization.   

Melissa is an Atlanta native with a BA in Art History from Tufts University and an MBA from the University of Georgia.  When she isn’t working, Melissa loves to spend time with her family, friends, and beloved rescued dog, Rae.  She is an avid (amateur) photographer who daydreams of rescuing abandoned puppies everywhere.  


Kimber Bond
Graphic Designer/Marketing

Kimber Bond, Graphic Designer, brings a wealth of experience in the design and production of marketing and public relations programs. Prior to joining Prima, she held various positions as a graphic designer and marketer for several national real estate firms. In her role with Prima, Kimber is responsible for all marketing efforts, from initial ad and program concept to execution of strategic marketing plans.

Kimber holds a B.A. in Marketing and Sales from Kennesaw State University, as well as certification in Graphic Design from Creative Circus, a well-known Atlanta Advertising and Design School. While attending Creative Circus, she received a design scholarship from Leo-Burnett Advertising Agency, Chicago, and was published in Graphis New Talent Design Annual, 2001. 

When she isn't working, Kimber is usually at one of the local trails walking, hiking, enjoying time with friends and family, or enjoying a good movie on Netflix.
